Waqar Hussain Abbasi , Joint Secretary (Admn)

Mr. Waqar Hussain Abbasi, Joint Secretary is looking after the general administration of the Ministry of SAFRON. His responsibilities include HR management, supply chain, budget of the main Ministry and its attached department, residual matters of the devolved subjects of FATA, PATA and Federal levies & Khasadar Force of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan besides Parliamentary Business etc. 

Mr. Waqar belongs to Secretariat Group, having 22-years of service at his credit in various Federal Government Departments such as Establishment Division, Economic Affairs Division, Climate Change Division, Public Procurement Regulatory Authority, Azad Jammu & Kashmir Council Secretariat, Human Rights Division and Defence Division. He has also worked for the World Bank Headquarters at Washington DC in the year 2007. He remained a faculty member of National Institute of Procurement from 2013 to 2017. He did his Masters in Economics, and History from Islamia University Bahawalpur and University of the Punjab Lahore respectively.
