The Quaid-i-Azam has instructed that the creation of a new Ministry which is to work directly under him should be announced to the Press to-night, and also gazetted immediately. The Quaid-i-Azam has decided that the new Ministry will be called “The Ministry of States and Frontier Regions”. The Quaid-i-Azam has further directed that unless there is any serious legal or other objection, it must be stated in the Press Note that the new Ministry will function under the direct control, guidance and direction of Quaid-i-Azam and Governor-General of Pakistan and this portfolio will be his special care.

Berlin 23 July, 2024: The Secretary SAFRON, Mr. Zafar Hassan and the Chief Commissioner for Afghan Refugees, Mr. Muhammad Abbas Khan represented Pakistan at the UNHCR’s Berlin Roundtable on Sustainable Programming for Refugees hosted by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Islamabad, August 8, 2024 – Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions Engr. Amir Muqam and Secretary SAFRON, Mr. Zafar Hasan met with U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Bloom to discuss bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, they addressed matters of mutual interest, particularly counter-terrorism efforts and the repatriation of Afghan citizens. The Federal Minister expressed his gratitude for the long-standing cooperation between the US and Pakistan and emphasized that the US has been an essential partner in various fields, including economic development and humanitarian aid.
